Metric & Standard Measurement Conversion Widget

Have you ever wanted to convert metric measurements to standard measurements (feet, miles, etc.) or the
reverse? This web based tool will do just that. Simply select from one of the two switch tabs of the
converter (default is metric to standard), enter your number, and select an option for each measurement
unit. Presto, you have your metric and standard conversions done for you.
FYI: Metric and standard measurement systems are also known as Metric and English
measurement systems. It's interesting to note that even though the standard system is associated with
England (English), England now uses the metric system instead.

The metric measurement units are all based on the decimal system or
Base 10 multiples. To convert the amount of units within the metric system,
you only need to move the decimal point to the appropriate position. For example, since there are 10
decimeters in each meter, if someone tells you to convert 30 decimeters in the equivalent meter
measurement, you'd simply move the decimal point 1 position to the left which would equal 3 meters
(30.0 decimeters = 3.0 meters).
